The Living Room Grham Greene Better known as a prolific novelist, here Greene shows himself to be an expert playwright. Although The Living Room was first performed in 1953, it still presents the audience with a tangled web of moral and spiritual dilemmas. He highlights the inadequacies of modern science and religion as a psychologist and a priest attempt to make sense of human tragedy. Each character has their own formula for happiness but, like the living room, "nothing quite fits".
